The Customer:

Our Customer is one of the largest Egyptian companies working in the food retail business, operating as a discount market chain. His plan was to operate a wide range of grocery stores and warehouses (more than 400 stores, and 3 warehouses) that cover all regions of Egypt and serve them via his own fleet of vans and trucks. His primary objective is to serve his customers with high quality food products and consumer commodities at the best prices.

The Problem:

The customer’s top management had realized from the beginning that if they were not incredibly careful with their inventory and warehouse management, that that would be where the money bleeds. They decided to avoid the following two harmful extremes a) Having excess product on hand that they cannot sell or that goes bad before they can put it out. b) having so little product that they build a reputation as the store which is always running out of things. So, applying a comprehensive inventory and warehouse management system was a must.

The Solution:

They started looking for a partner that could supply both the handheld computers needed for accurate data gathering and offer support and advice to their business for the future. Obviously, all major handheld computers suppliers were subject to this survey and competed to win this deal. But only Gargour Technologies with its 45 years of experience in this field in Egypt was able to prove its competence in this challenge. Gargour’s technical setup together with the staff qualification made a successful supply, installation, and maintenance for more than 800 MC45 and TC25 handheld computers with their software for more than 4 years now.
